'17 ART OF BLENDING WINE & LUNCH with Winemaker, J. Scott Oberlander
A NEW OFFERING! As part of the SAVOR WINE AND FOOD FESTIVAL, this class was created so you actually do some wine blending! You’ll see it is almost as easy as creating a new recipe. Both start the same way, i.e., start with the best ingredients.
J. Scott Cellars’ wine maker, Jonathan Scott Oberlander, shares his wine making knowledge and brings us his exquisitely crafted wine varietals from which he has made some of Oregon’s best wines. You will learn how our own “Neroni Chefs Blends are produced to go especially well with food. You then measure and combine the same varietals to make your own version of a food friendly blend. Ours will be in hand to compare. In the end, we hope you leave believing that wine blending indeed compares well to the art of cooking.
You will enjoy both of our most recent Chefs Blend Oregon Red and White, matched with the lunch we make in front of you.
The menu is inspired by our wine maker himself, as he has very fond memories of his French experience getting to know the wines of France.
Lunch is after we do the wine tasting and blending for which a small cheese board with bread is provided while we blend and taste our wine.
To Start: Cup of French Onion Soup
Main: Open face Croque Monsieur sandwich topped with toasted swiss cream sauce and frisee salad with red onion vinaigrette
Finally: Chocolate éclair with ganache and pastry cream

After lunch our winemaker, Jonathan, will be pouring some of his labels right here at EVOO, as part of the SAVOR CANNON BEACH wine walk.
Any of our shows or class experiences can be designed just for your private party. (*) Imagine having a room of your friends watching and dining during the Dinner Show or with aprons on and hands into the dough during a private PASTA 101 semi-hands-on class. (*)Private groups of ten or less may join the regular scheduled classes and are expected to pay the regular price per person, gratuity optional. Groups of 11 or more constitute a private event, and our pricing for those experiences depends upon the date, number in the party, type of experience, and of course, the menu. A service fee is always applied.
