2012 TOURS TO ITALY

Dear EVOO Friends and Foodies:

We are ready to take our taste buds abroad for another totally private, custom guided food and wine experience in Italy. Our charming Italian experienced tour director, now Portland resident, Paola of TravelYourWay.biz, has done all the legwork for EVOO guests to enjoy two unique experiences with small farms, artisan producers and local vineyards. You enjoy many food workshops and one of a kind experiences designed just for our groups. Each week promises a comprehensive immersion into the culinary traditions of Italy. This year we spend six nights and days in two spectacularly visual as well as tasty regions of Italy! Come for one week or both!

  • Our first week takes us to a hilltop with views of the sea from our rooms and just a few minutes from Amalfi and Sorrento on the southern Italy coast on the Mediterranean Sea. Just think about it! We spend six nights in a small boutique hotel with guest amenities and breath taking views. Breakfast is provided daily, most lunches and all but 2 dinners. Of course, we’ll want to get our hands into the food preparation and there will be lots of opportunity for that, too.

  • Our second week takes us to the North in the Piedmont region where we will stay in an Italian Agriturismo, a family run farm bed and breakfast. Our rooms are all double with private baths. The food culture of this area will keep us busy from truffle foraging to making cheese (famous for Gorgonzola), making risotto with rice from the local fields, to tasting the best Barolo wines in the world. Piedmont is the region that produces the largest number of best known, noble, and prize-winning wines.
