Dear Friends:

How about, “Back to Cooking School, Again!”

We passed our 15th anniversary (Aug-14-18) without reaching out to you, so first on our agenda is to thank you for your patronage and loyal support. We absolutely could not do this without you, our returning ENCORE friends.

We have had a terrific crazy busy and rewarding summer. We are moving into some new territory soon that we’d like to share with you as well, and to invite you to join our new tours to FRANCE in 2019.

Coming soon! Instagram feed by Lenore as we fulfill our commitment to a grant from the Oregon Coast Visitors Association (OCVA). Bob is being filmed up and down our fabulous coast highlighting what's to eat as well as activities to enjoy all-seasons, especially from a "foodie's" perspective. Lenore is along to watch the budget (some things never change) and to let you all know how it's going. Coming this May! The Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce is presenting a new culinary FOOD festival! This time the plan is to make this an annual spring time event. The plan is to include food and beverage workshops all around town, a night to "taste" the restaurants, with an after party with music and after dinner beverages. In addition, we plan to honor our consummate local foodie, James Beard, who spent his youth in Gearhart in the summers. It was then he made his cooking known to friends and family as well as the students at Seaside High. The North Coast Culinary Fest tickets will include a VIP reception at Beard's former beach cottage.
Do you still have fresh berries to use up? See our featured recipe from the month of July, Berry-Berry Soup, for dessert. And if you need to freeze the berries, why not make some Very-Berry Sorbet.

We'd like to thank our interns for this summer.
Nancy Flaherty has been interning with us every summer for the last five. She brings joy and conviviality to our kitchen as well as strong culinary execution. She is a delight and we are blessed with her presence. She will be back next summer!
Inja Lin is here on a paid culinary internship to work with our crew and perhaps gain culinary habits that he may share with his chef - sister back home in Baltimore.
Such an internship is available every summer and we have only one that comes with our studio. So if there is any interest to explore this more, the early-bird gets the studio, too! See what it takes to BE ONE OF THE EVOO TEAM!
