Equipment

You will need the following equipment to cook Delicata squash. You will need a cutting board, sharp knife, roasting pan, and an oven.

Instructions to Follow

You will have to follow the below-mentioned below-mentioned instructions to cook Delicata squash.

  1. The first and most important step is to wash the squash. As mentioned above, this squash does not peel; hence, you will eat the skin. So ensure that you give the squash a good scrub with your hands and remove all the dirt and dust accumulated on the skin.

  2. Next, lay the squash horizontally on the cutting board and cut down both ends of the squash. After you do so, you will have flat surfaces at both ends.

  3. Now, cut down the squash longitudinally and scrape off all the seeds from the center of the squash. You can use a deep and broad spoon to do so, or you can also use an ice cream scoop to scrape out all the seeds from the center.

  4. Now cut down the slices of the squash. As you slice the squash, ensure that you cut the pieces evenly of uniform thickness. The thinner you slice, the better and faster the squash slices will cook.

  5. Lay your squash slices on the baking tray and spray some olive oil or butter onto them. To add or enhance the flavor, you can add salt and pepper to the squash slices. Some people also consider sprinkling some paprika powder.

  6. Last, put the tray in the oven and set the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the squash slices. Bake them until they are nearly burnt or brown.

Enjoy Your Delicata Squash
